Q : What is the Sunrise Registration Period? |
|
A : The Sunrise Registration is an exclusive period of time prior to General Registration when the owners of Intellectual Property, such as Trademark holders, have an opportunity to register their desired names in the .mobi Top Level Domain. It is a service provided by the dotmobi registry to protect the rights of the owners of Intellectual Property. |

Q : Who is eligible to register a domain name during the Sunrise Reservations period? |
|
A : Only those qualified Trademarks holders may register their domain names during the Sunrise period. |

Q : Who is considered a "qualified" Trademark owner for the purposes of the Sunrise Registration Period? |
|
A : A qualified Trademark owner for the purposes of the Sunrise Registration Period is anyone who holds a Trademark or Service mark applied for prior to July 11, 2005 and granted before the date of the domain name application. |

Q : What are the valid characters for a dotmobi domain name? |
|
A : Dotmobi domain names can contain the English-language letters A through Z, and the digits 0 through 9. You can also use hyphens, but hyphens cannot begin or end your domain name. Spaces and special characters (such as !, $, &, ë, and so on) are never permitted. |

Q : What about non-English language characters? |
|
A : Internationalised Domain Names (IDNs) are domain names that are represented by native language, non-ASCII characters. The native language domain name is followed by the Top Level Domain (TLD), such as .mobi. An example of an IDN is: müller.mobi. Dotmobi intends to support Internationalised Domain Names (IDN)s in the future. More Information will follow when available. |

Q : Will mTLD check the validity of the Trademark documents during this process? |
|
A : The applicant is responsible to ensure the application is complete and accurate. mTLD reserves the right to randomly check the validity of Trademark documents and other required information during the Sunrise Period. mTLD reserves the right to cancel any applications which it deems not to meet the eligibility criteria. |

Q : Will the names registered during the Sunrise Registration Period be available for review by the public at large? |
|
A : Yes, the names registered during the Sunrise Process will be available for review by the public at large using the WHOIS service |

Q : What is the WHOIS service? |
|
A : WHOIS is a central database that tracks all domain name registrations. Each domain name registrar typically maintains its own version of a WHOIS database. The domain names will be available via the dotmobi WHOIS database which will be available soon. |

Q : What is the dispute process used for domains registered during the Sunrise registration period? |
|
A : Disputes for domains registered during the Sunrise Registration period may be settled according the Sunrise Challenge process during the Challenge Period which follows the Sunrise Registration period

Q : What is the Sunrise Challenge Period? |
|
A : This is a period following the end of the Sunrise Period where a challenge may be lodged against the awarding of a domain name to a registrant. The Sunrise Challenge Period begins on Monday, the 28th of August, 2006 and ends on Friday, the 15th of December, 2006.

Q : When can I transfer a domain registered during the Sunrise Registration period? |
|
A : Domain names registered during the Sunrise Registration period may be transferred shortly after the end of the Sunrise Challenge period providing the name has not been challenged. |
