Policy Advisory Board
|
|
The Policy Advisory Board (PAB) provides a vital link between mTLD and the .mobi Advisory Group (MAG) and advises mTLD on best-practice registry policy relating to the dotmobi top level domain.
PAB will follow user-friendly processes to collect input from MAG and dotmobi stakeholders, evaluate comments received and provide timely feedback to mTLD. It will also keep the company aware of any wider public policy issues which have an impact on mTLD’s operations.
The Board comprises ten appointed members representing a broad spectrum of the mobile, Internet and user communities. Half of these are selected from the MAG. Two members are drawn from the ICANN At Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), two represent NGO/public interest/user group members, and one will represent the registry operations contractor.
PAB will conduct its business in an open, fair and transparent manner. Like the MAG, PAB will for the most part conduct virtual meetings and engage in on-line discussion with occasional physical meetings. PAB will also have a dedicated web-site (accessible through the mTLD site).
The interim PAB will serve for a period of six months (to June 2006) and is charged with organising and overseeing the PAB until such time as the appropriate decision-making structure is in place. The PAB Chairperson will chair and co-ordinate meetings. For this same period, the mTLD PAB liaison officer will also act as General Secretariat to assist PAB in its set-up operations.
As the Board matures, it will post information on its website about the development of policy recommendations as they affect the mTLD registry. The board will also use the site for consultation purposes on new policy proposals, and for information on upcoming meetings. |
